I guess you think they like our thoughts regimented. I guess you could have a point.
Here is a quote by Stanislaw Lec..."One has to multiply thoughts to the point where there are not enough policemen to control them."
Isn't that what blogging does?
" The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses."
Not unlike Gordo.
James, I figure religion is likely up there with the press.
Too cool. I am stealing the use of some of those quotes. Excellent
However, I would say that without a free press I do not think you can have a free country - a democracy, a republic, or a working parliament - someone has to keep an eye on the chaps with power. Like anything, the power of the press can be misused.
Lady Macleod, I agree that we do need a free press, or someone, to keep an eye on politicians.
I was making the point that we need to critically examine what we are told to see if it is true and what agenda they may have in promoting given facts, even if they are true.
Are the press being manipulated by the politicians? Are the press persuing their own agenda?
A bit of both probably.
I say beware of being steered, beware of propaganda, learn to recognise them.
