Quote of the day

“We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

John F. Kennedy

It seems as if the American political establishment have learned fear, if nothing else, in the last couple of decades.

So whose fault was it? Ford or Carter?

You make a valid point.

However I was thinking in terms of the general sentiment, rather than the US in particular, when I posted the quote though, ditto the one from Ghandi in today’s is generally applicable.
